WHAT IS HAIR PRP?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a clinically and scientifically proven regenerative hair loss treatment that uses a concentrated dose of your own blood, specifically plasma, to stimulate hair growth. The concentrated plasma contains growth factors which are clinically shown to stimulate hair growth and regenerate dormant hair follicles.
Who Is This Suitable For?
PRP is most effective for individuals in the early stages of hair thinning, examples of suitable cases are:
- Alopecia: Male or female pattern baldness, individuals who still have active, albeit shrinking follicles.
- Post-Partum Thinning: Women experiencing temporary hair shedding due to hormonal shifts.
- Maintenance: Those looking to thicken existing hair or improve the scalp health as a preventative treatment for hair loss.
- Transplant Patients: Individuals looking to speed up healing and improve graft survival after a hair transplant.

Treatment
PRP therapy is a three-step process.
PRP therapy typically requires 3-4 treatments booked 4-6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are required approximately every 6 months depending on the severity of hair loss.
Step 1 – Blood is drawn from your arm and put into a centrifuge
Step 2 - After about 5 minutes in the centrifuge, your blood will have separated into three layers:
• platelet-poor plasma
• platelet-rich plasma
• red blood cells
Step 3 - The platelet-rich plasma is drawn up into a syringe and injected directly into treatment areas in the scalp.
Frequently Asked Questions – Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
How effective is PRP?
PRP is a proven clinical prractice for treatment of hair loss. Studies show PRP can produce a regrowth rate of up to 50%. Results may vary across individuals depending on genetics and quality of blood samples.
How does PRP work for hair loss?
A small sample of your blood is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. This enriched plasma is then injected into specific areas of the scalp. The growth factors present in your platelets serve to activate dormant hair follicles, improve blood circulation to the scalp, and encourage the growth of thicker, healthier hair.Is PRP therapy painful?
Most patients report mild discomfort during injections. To further enhance comfort during the procedure, we use a mesotherapy gun to allow for rapid injections of plasma and minimal pain.
When will I see results?
Results can vary, but most patients begin to observe:
- Reduced hair shedding within a few weeks
- Noticeable improvement in thickness and growth after 3–6 months
Consistency with your treatment regimen is crucial to attaining optimal results.
Is the treatment safe?
Absolutely!
PRP therapy utilizes your own blood, significantly lowering the risk of allergic reactions or rejection. All procedures are conducted using sterile, clinically approved methods.
How many sessions will I need?
A typical treatment regimen consists of 3-6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments approximately every 6 months. Your treatment plan will be customized to meet your specific needs.
